SMF Supports Homestay Development in Sumedang

SMF collaborates with the Sumedang Regional Government, West Java and the Gold Indonesia Community Foundation (YMIE). The collaboration includes the development of regional tourism in Sumedang Regency through financing homestay development, mentoring, community empowerment, monitoring and fostering tourism group communities.

This collaboration was realized through the signing of a memorandum of understanding between SMF and the Regional Government of Sumedang Regency which was signed directly by the Managing Director of SMF, Ananta Wiyogo, the Regent of Sumedang Dony Ahmad Munir, and the General Chairperson of the Foundation for Indonesia Gold (YMIE), Marsudi Wahyu Kisworo at the Regional Secretariat Hall, Sumedang Regency Government Center, Thursday (11/2/2021).

President Director of SMF, Ananta Wiyogo said that the collaboration with the Sumedang Regional Government is SMF’s commitment to support the National Economic Recovery (PEN), especially in the tourism sector, through homestay financing. “As a Special Mission Vehicle (SMV) of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Indonesia, SMF is ready to support the government’s efforts to accelerate the national economic recovery, especially for the tourism sector which was quite deeply affected by the pandemic. Through this homestay financing, it is hoped that the tourism sector in the Sumedang area can stretch again and have a positive impact on the area and the surrounding community, “added Ananta.

Ananta is optimistic that the development of a homestay in the Tourism Village of Sumedang Regency will encourage the movement of the tourism sector which can foster economic potential for both homestay owners and the surrounding community, so as to improve the standard of living of the community. “We believe that this homestay financing program can have an impact in terms of social impacts, where homestay financing can improve the quality of aspects of health, education, employment, wealth, income levels, quality of life, trade, and public awareness of the environment,” he said.

Regarding this, the Regent of Sumedang, Dony Ahmad Munir, was grateful for having made an MoU on tourism development in Sumedang Regency through financing for homestay development. “Sumedang has determined and established tourism as its core business. Therefore, a tourism ecosystem must be built, one of which is the provision of lodging or homestays in several tourist attractions,” he said.

The Homestay Financing Program is a special assignment program for SMF from the Government. Since 2019, SMF has synergized with the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (Kemenparekraf) in realizing a Partnership Program in the form of a Homestay Financing Program in Priority Tourism Destinations (DPP) located in Central Java, Yogyakarta Yogyakarta and West Nusa Tenggara (NTB).
